Former Miami Heat Point Guard Alfrie Eugene “Tre” Kelley has voiced his wish to return to Ghana in the coming years after making his first visit to the West African nation.
He made the statement ahead of headlining a basketball clinic at the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) earlier today in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The Basketball Clinic had 40 participants go through basketball drills in shooting, ball handling and passing on the fast break; PRESEC Basketball Head Coach Ato Sam and his Coaching Staff was present at the event.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com exclusively at the camp, the 14 year pro Guard stated his wishes about the program and the country in the long term.
“To start a partnership. I want to come back to Ghana for sure I want to create a relationship with these guys. I want to come back and see some of the best talent, to help some of these guys make it in the US, go to college…maybe play Pro ball one day” he said.
Kelley has played for teams in Italy, Turkey, Greece and China aside his run with the Miami Heat. The Ghana Tourism Authority and Beyond the Return Diaspora Initiative supported the event.
