Basketballghana.com can report the 3×3 Open Run Competition for 3×3 Basketball tips off on Saturday, July 26 with games to be played at the Kawukudi Basketball Court in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The competition is being organized by Impact Youth Foundation and runs from 14:00 to 18:00 GMT this weekend with registration still open. Teams that register get a 3×3 profile page created for them on the FIBA site to be ranked alongside teams from other countries in the world.
Impact Youth Foundation recently hosted WNBA Center Imani McGee-Stafford in Ghana where the former Atlanta Dream player headlined basketball clinics for female players.
Ghana has seen a major improvement in participation in international competitions for the abridged but very popular version of basketball with appearances at the 2019 African Beach Games and the 2018 West African Championship held in Benin.
3X3 Basketball will make its debut at the Tokyo Olympic Games later in July after the popular sport was added to the list for the multi sport competition.
