Basketballghana.com can confirm veteran Point Guard Alfie Eugene “Tre” Kelley III is in Ghana with the 36 year old touching down in the West African nation on his offseason.
The playmaker who is well travelled last played in the NBA Gatorade League (G League) formerly known as NBA Development League (D League) for Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
Kelley won the 2016 G League title during his time at Siuox Falls Skyforce and has also played for Austin Toros now Austin Spurs during two stints at the latter.
Ghanaian players Ben Bentil and Amida Brimah have played for Fort Wayne in previous stints in the G League. Bentil is with Turkish side Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul in Turkey while Brimah has moved to Fort Wayne’s affiliate side in the NBA, Indiana Pacers.
Kelley averaged 13.7 points, 4.7 assists and 2.5 rebounds for Fort Wayne after averaging 11.1 points and 3.8 assists during four year run at University of South Carolina.
The 6 footer had a brief stint with Miami Heat and has played in Italy, Venezuela, China and Israel.
