Basketballghana.com can confirm the COVID 19 vaccination program for the Accra Basketball League (ABL) will take place at the Lebanon House in Tudu in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The event is scheduled to be held on July 1, July 2 and July 3 respectively at one of the host venues of the ABL. July 2 and 3 were originally slated as the vaccination days before a recent update was provided.
The ABL has released an official statement communicating the purpose of the vaccination program is to ensure the health safety of all personnel involved in the running of the league especially players.
The League also communicated all players who don’t vaccinate won’t be allowed to compete in the upcoming 2021 season. The start date of the league is yet to be communicated.
A few weeks ago, registration of teams and players was completed across all three divisions of the ABL; the Men’s Division I, Men’s Division II and the Women’s Division.
Ghana Police Service and Braves of Customs won the 2019 Campaign in the Women’s Division and Men’s Division I. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic.
