Basketballghana.com can confirm the Tema Basketball League (TBL) Registration Portal will close on Tuesday, July 20 with the 2021 season set to continue afterwards.
The TBL officially opened the portal for Basketball clubs to register to compete in the upcoming season on Thursday, June 17; this was communicated via a statement released by the League Board.
The registration process is often followed by the announcement of the start date for the league and release of the schedule. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
With restrictions on participating in contact sports eased in Ghana, it was only a matter of time for serious club basketball competitions to kick in.
Nungua Coldstore Basketball Club is the last team to win the League thanks to its triumph in the 2019 Finals over league debutant Spintex Knights. The team has three league titles to its credit.
Aside the Tema League, the Accra Basketball League (ABL) is expected to commence soon.
