Basketballghana.com can confirm budding Ghana Center Joel Mensah has officially joined California State University San Marcos Men’s Basketball Team.
This comes after the 6 foot 10 inch defender transferred from James Madison University Men’s Basketball Team following the conclusion of the 2020-2021 season.
After spending two seasons at San Diego State University, Mensah moved to James Madison in search of extensive playing time but missed out on seeing the floor a lot of times.
During his time at San Diego, the team won the Mountain West Conference twice; fellow Ghanaian Center Nathan Mensah is preparing to play out his final year with the team next season.
The 21 year old played just nine games all season and started just two of them while averaging 1.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in six minutes of play in the 2020-2021 season.
San Marcos competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II which represents a step down for Mensah who has competed at the Division I level in his college career.
He is majoring in Finance.
