Basketballghana.com understands After 7 Basketball Club and Akatsi Basketball Club have struck a deal to organize a series of basketball friendly games.
The games are due to take place on Saturday June 19 at the Akatsi Court in Ghana’s Volta Region with a handful of basketball clubs due to compete.
Akatsi Veterans, Tema Shepherds, After 7 Club and Accra CYO Club have been penciled in to play in the friendly games with the event scheduled to tip off at 10:00 GMT.
Shepherds and After 7 Club have featured in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Veteran’s Competition while Akatsi Rifles competes in the Tema Basketball League (TBL).
An exhibition Game between Akatsi Rifles and Aflao Flames will also take place during the event as basketball activities continue to increase in Ghana as COVID 19 related restrictions ease.
A ban on participation in contact sports introduced at the start of the pandemic has been eased; the event comes at a time preparations are far advanced towards the commencement of the ABL and TBL.
