Organizers of the Tema Basketball League (TBL) have released a teaser regarding the start date for the league that has been halted for over a year.
The tease was issued on the League’s Twitter page earlier today with the caption “Are you Ready for the Tema BasketballLeague?” and attached to the caption was the logo of the TBL.
Following the conclusion of the 2019 Championship, the stage was set for a thrilling 2020 season but the onset of the corona virus prevented that from taking place.
The pandemic forced a ban on participation in contact sports in the West African nation but measures are being eased as the number of cases of infections and deaths continue to drop amid a vaccination campaign.
A handful of teams have gone ahead to register players in anticipation of the league’s return notably Spintex Knights prying reigning Most Valuable Player Award winner Joel Tham from Nungua Coldstore.
Coldstore beat Knights to win the 2019 title at the Team Community 4 Court.
