Ghanaian-Italian Small Forward Awudu Abass has won the 2020-2021 Italian Serie A Basketball League title thanks toVirtus Bologna victory in the Finals Series that concluded this weekend.
Abass’ Bologna beat Olimpia Milano 73-62 to clinch the league title on the back of a sweep of Milano in the finals. Bologna won four straight games in the series to clinch the title. (Click highlighted text to watch game)
This is Abass’ second league title after bagging his first while playing for Milano in 2018; he moved to Bologna after a two year run at Germani Brescia.
The 28 year old who can play as a Shooting Guard started the game and registered two points and five rebounds with two rebounds coming on the offensive end.
Abass played 13 minutes after scoring a field goal in three attempts in the game; Kyle Weems led Bologna with 14 points and four rebounds.
In his first season with Virtus, Abass has had a strong finish to the campaign after struggling for minutes earlier on this season with a bout of COVID also contributing to those struggles.
