Basketballghana.com can confirm 10 teams will compete in the 2021 Accra Basketball League (ABL) with the chance to clinch the title. The registration process for teams has been completed.
Reports indicate the league is sure to commence soon to end the long hiatus of competitive club basketball due to the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic.
The initial stage of the ABL 2020 season commenced but was forced to grind to a halt as a result of the pandemic and its ensuing ban on participation in competitive sports in Ghana.
10 teams have registered to play in the upcoming season in the Women’s Division and Men’s Division I respectively. Old foes will renew their rivalry with reigning champions Braves of Customs, Adenta Leopards, Tema Youth and Ghana Police Service all set to play.
In the Women’s Division, reigning champions Ghana Police Service and bitter rival Ghana Police Service are set to lead the pack with the likes of Ghana Fire Service and Reformers of Prisons set to compete.
The Men’s Division II has 15 teams registered to compete. Below is a list of registered teams for the 2021 season:
