Basketballghana.com gathers the registration of teams that intend to compete in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) has been completed.
The teams registered will compete in the 2021 ABL season in the Men’s Division I, Women’s Division and Men’s Division II with games slated to be played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu and Prisons Court in Cantonments in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
Reports reaching Ghana’s biggest basketball portal indicate 10 teams have registered to compete in the Men’s Division I and Women’s Division with 15 registered in the Men’s Division II.
This comes on the back of a lengthy break in the activities of the ABL due to the COVID 19 pandemic that resulted in a ban on participation in all contact sports in the West African nation.
With restrictions on COVID 19 easing in recent past months, there is hope the league could be played out this year; there is an added incentive for the league to commence as soon as possible since the league winner is likely to represent Ghana in the 2022 Basketball Africa League (BAL) qualifiers slated for October.
