Basketballghana.com gathers qualification games to determine teams to compete in the 2022 edition of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) will commence in October this year.
The qualifiers will mirror those that determined the six teams that made half of the roster of teams that participated in the 2021 edition of the NBA-FIBA Africa tournament.
The 2021 BAL just ended in Rwanda with all games played at the Kigali Arena with Zamalek from Egypt emerging as champions; 12 teams competed in the tournament with six teams earning automatic qualification.
Per information reaching Ghana’s biggest basketball portal, the upcoming edition and the 2023 BAL will take place at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda.
Qualification games are spread across the African continent via zonal qualifiers and the top teams progress to the next stage for a place at the BAL.
Ghana’s Braves of Customs competed in Zone 3 for a spot at the 2020 BAL but missed out to Nigeria’s Rivers Hoopers in the process. The number of competing at the BAL is to be maintained for the next couple of years.
