Nigeria’s Women’s Basketball Team has lost the last of three friendly games as the team prepares to compete in this year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo.

D’Tigress lost 47-79 to Belgium after bagging wins over Puerto Rico and Serbia in the previous games for the reigning African Champions. Nigeria is also the first African team in both men’s and women’s basketball to compete at the quarterfinal stage of the Basketball World Cup achieving the feat in the 2018.

Nigeria beat Puerto Rico 89-63 in the opening game and followed it up with a 59-56 win over Serbia prior to the loss to Belgium earlier this week.

Center Chidom Oderah led Nigeria with 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and a block in 29 minutes against Belgium.  Nigeria is Africa’s sole representative at the Olympics thus far.

D’Tigress has been drawn in Group C for the Olympic competition alongside defending Champions USA, host nation Japan and France.
