Later tonight, Ghanaian-Italian Small Forward Awudu Abass is likely to play for Virtus Bologna in Game 3 of the Italian Basketball League semifinal series against Brindisi.
Bologna has won twice in as many games against Brindisi thus far in the series and another win tonight pushes Virtus to the final series of the season.
Making the final gives 28 year old Abass the chance to win his second league title after bagging his first during his time at Olimpia Milano.
Abass registered nine points, a steal and five rebounds in 22 minutes as a starter in Game 2’s 83-74 win for Bologna. Abass scored all three free throws and scored two of three field goal attempts but missed a pair of three point shots in the contest.
In the other bracket, Abass’ former team, Milano holds a 2-0 series over Venezia; Milano and Bologna are favourites to progress to the final setting Abass against his ex team.
Abass regularly takes up defensive duties alongside his international teammate Marco Bellineli on the wings.
