Basketballghana.com can confirm Miami Heat Guard Gabe Vincent is set to join Nigeria’s Men’s Basketball Team (D’Tigers) with his 2020-2021 NBA season done.

Senior Columnist at South Florida Sun Sentinel Ira Winderman made the announcement on his Twitter page about the second year NBA player’s intentions for the offseason.(Click highlighted text to view tweet)

This comes on the back of Miami Heat’s crushing loss to Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA playoffs; the Heat lost all four games in the best of seven games series to exit in the first round of the postseason.

In his second season as a Two Way Contract Player, the soon to be 25 year old averaged 4.8 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 13.1 minutes across 50 games in the regular season.

Nigeria’s immediate attention is the Tokyo Olympics which is the West African country’s third in a row; Vincent played for Nigeria at the 2019 Basketball World Cup and help secure D’Tigers qualification to the Olympics.

Nigeria will compete in the 2021 AfroBasket due to take place in Rwanda from August 24 to September 5.
