Basketballghana.com can report WNBA player Imani McGee Stafford continues to empower females in Ghana on her tour of the West African nation in varied ways.
Earlier this week, the former Atlanta Dream player visited FountainHead Christian School in Sakumono, a suburb in Ghana’s capital, Accra earlier this week.
McGee led the female basketball team through a training session and engaged them in conversations encouraging them to use sports to create more opportunities to get educated.
She spoke to students of the Aburi Girls School on another stop on her tour that has seen her visit the Palace of the Paramount Chief of Okuapeman, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III.
“They matter, they are loved, and they can achieve whatever they put their mind and heart to” she said while addressing the High School students at Aburi.
McGee who has playing experience in Australia’s WNBL trip to Ghana is headlined by Impact Youth Foundation whose mission is to use sports as a life changing tool for young individuals. The 6 foot 7 Center is in the first of a two year break from playing active basketball as she pursues a Law Degree.
