Basketballghana.com can report Phase 1A of the YETS Ghana Community Youth Development Centre is complete and work will soon commence on the next phase of the project.
The project is located at Anwiankwanta close to Ghana’s Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi, and is scheduled to house multiple facilities to aid the development of young individuals in the area.
When completed the Community Centre will have an ICT lab, a library, an auditorium, classrooms, dormitory, two basketball courts and a changing room; this is according to Basketball Coach at the Foundation, Abdul Umar Razak Kasim. (Click highlighted text to view story)
YETS Ghana is a sub unit of YETS Foundation which is based in the Netherlands and uses basketball and education through its after school program as tools to empower young individuals.
Prior to the start of the Free Senior High School Education roll out program in Ghana, standout individuals from YETS Foundation’s basketball program gained scholarships to play basketball at various High Schools including Opoku Ware School former Center Pius Asaki and former St. Louis Senior High School player Sandra Dakorah
