Toronto Raptors President of Basketball Operations Masai Ujiri has stated he is in Rwanda to scout for players competing in the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
The BAL is an NBA-FIBA Africa continental competition taking place at the Kigali Arena in the East African country with 12 teams representing 12 nations competing.
The inaugural edition of the tournament commenced on May 16 and is due to end on May 30; the quarterfinal games are slated to be played later today and on Thursday, May 27.
Speaking exclusively to BAL on his arrival in the country, the NBA Executive who led Raptors to the franchise’s sole NBA title in 2019 stated, “I came to scout and see and love and enjoy the BAL, the league in Africa.” (Click highlighted text to watch video)
