Vanoli Cremona Basketball Head Coach Paolo Galbiati has expressed satisfied with Ghanaian-Italian International Guard David Cournooh’s contract extension.
The deal was signed a few days ago with the 30 year old Cournooh completing his debut season at Cremona in a strong fashion prompting interest from the club’s hierarchy to keep him.
Speaking after the signing, Coach Galbiati was full of praise for the former Virtus Bologna player and was happy Cournooh decided to stay put.
I am really satisfied with David’s renewal, back from an important season, perhaps the best for him. He worked hard and made great strides over the course of the year, I expect more to consolidate his leading role” he said.
In his first season with Vanoli, Cournooh averaged nine points and three rebounds in 29.7 minutes across 25 appearances. Cremona completed the 2020-2021 season with 11 wins and 17 losses and finished in 10th place in the Serie A standings.
Cournooh was deployed as a defensive stopper in the backcourt.
