Basketballghana.com can confirm the quarterfinal matchups in the ongoing Basketball Africa League (BAL) have been set following the conclusion of games at the preliminary stage.

The quarterfinal games are to be played on Wednesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 27 at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda. The BAL is an NBA-FIBA Africa competition that has 12 teams representing 12 nations on the African continent battling it out for honours.

FAP from Cameroon plays Egypt’s Zamalek in the opening game at 15:30 GMT on Wednesday before Morocco’s AS Sale takes on Atletico de Luanda from Angola at 19:00 GMT.

Zamalek is yet to lose a game after three games in the tournament and completed a trio of wins late on Tuesday thanks to a 97-64 win over GS Petroilers from Algeria.

On Thursday, Senegal’s AS Douanes plays Tunisia’s US Monastir at 15:30 GMT before Ferrovario de Maputo from Mozambique plays home side Patriots at 19:00 GMT.

The winners progress to the semifinals which are to be played on May 29 with the third placed game and final game to roll out on Sunday, May 30.
