Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate American Hip Hop star J. Cole has arrived in Rwanda and is rumoured to have ambitions of playing in the tournament.
The Basketball Africa League (BAL) commences on Sunday, May 16 and ends on May 30 with all games to be played at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda.
12 teams representing 12 African countries are slated to compete in the NBA-FIBA Africa competition; the tournament will take place in a bubble in accordance with COVID 19 protocols.
Cole is an avid basketball lover and regularly competes in games including the NBA All Star Celebrity Game and according to Rwanda news outlet The New Times, the Dreamville Rapper plans to join home side Patriots Basketball Club’s roster.
Each team is eligible to have four foreign based players on their roster and the news comes on the back of fellow Rapper Master P’s claim that Cole is planning to play in the NBA. He said this in 2020.
