Ghana Center Amida Brimah made his debut in the NBA with a five minute cameo in Indiana Pacers 131-112 win over Orlando Magic this weekend.
The 6 foot 10 inch Center came off the bench late in the first half and later in the final minutes of the contest and registered a block; he was signed to a two way contract mere days before playing Orlando.
Brimah got his opportunity in the world’s best basketball league after a slew of injuries hit Pacers frontcourt players including two time All Star Power Forward Domantas Sabonis.
After playing limited minutes against the Magic, University of Connecticut graduate Brimah is likely to play more minutes to match Portland’s big frontcourt players.
The Trailblazers have 6 foot 11 inch Jusuf Nurkic and 6 foot 10 inch Enes Kanter manning the Center position while Indiana’s present frontcourt duo of JaKarr Sampson and Oshae Brissett stand at 6 foot 7 inches.
Brimah provides the size and rim protection that makes him a better fit at the Center position in tonight’s contest. The game tips off at 23:00 GMT.
