Indiana Pacers Center Amida Brimah has joined an exclusive list after making his debut in the NBA earlier today in a win for his side.
In the Pacers 131-112 win over Orlando Magic, Brimah became the second ever Ghanaian born basketball player to play in the NBA.
Brimah registered a blocked shot in five minutes off the bench and attempted a single shot in the contest; his left hook shot missed the mark.
He was signed to a two way contract on Friday, April 23 after spending two seasons with Pacers affiliate side in the NBA Gatorade League-Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
Small Forward/Power Forward Ben Bentil was the first player born in Ghana to play in the NBA after his brief stint with Dallas Mavericks; he signed a 10 day contract to play for Dallas in 2017.
Bentil who plays for Panathinaikos Basketball Club in Greece’s top tier league was the first Ghana born player to be drafted into the NBA after Boston Celtics selected him with the 51st pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
