Indiana Pacers Shooting Guard/ Point Guard Caris LeVert has stated his team will need recently signed Ghanaian Center Amida Brimah in the wake of a rash of injuries to the Pacers.
The 6 foot 10 inch defender was signed to a two way contract recently after spending two seasons playing for Indiana’s affiliate team in the NBA Gatorade League, Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
Brimah is renowned for his athletic dunks, rebounding and shot blocking after a four year run at University of Connecticut and starring for Austin Spurs in the Gatorade League for a couple of seasons.
Indiana is without regulars Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner and Goga Bitadze and has been forced to use undersized JaKarr Sampson and Oshae Brissett in the interim.
The addition of Brimah gives Indiana the size it lacks at the moment and LeVert pointed it out to Forbes stating:
“Obviously, he’s very long,” Pacers guard Caris LeVert said of Brimah. “[He] can block shots and finish above the rim. We will definitely need him out there if he’s available.”
Brimah could make his debut tonight against Orlando Magic.
