Basketballghana.com can confirm work is progressing steadily on the construction of the YETS Ghana Youth Development Centre in Ghana’s Ashanti Region.

The construction is taking place at the site located in Anwiankwanta, an hour drive from Ghana’s Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi; construction started earlier this year.

The Center when completed is expected to have two multipurpose basketball courts with seating areas for fans, offices, classrooms, changing rooms, an auditorium, a library, an ICT Laboratory and a dormitory per information gathered from Basketball Coach at the Foundation, Abdul Umar Razak Kasim.

The project has been in the works for a while as part of the Foundation’s plans to improve its assistance to the community and neighbouring towns in the region.

YETS Ghana is a sub unit of YETS Foundation which is based in the Netherlands and uses basketball and education through its after school program as tools to empower young individuals.

Prior to the start of the Free Senior High School Education roll out program in Ghana, standout individuals from YETS Foundation’s basketball program gained scholarships to play basketball at various High Schools including Opoku Ware School former Center Pius Asaki and former St. Louis Senior High School player Sandra Dakorah.
