The signing was announced by NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski a few minutes ago as the Indiana continues to sign players in its attempt to replace the injured starting Center Myles Turner.
Turner was in the midst of a breakout year especially on the defensive side and was in the running to win the Defensive Player of the Year Award until suffering a foot injury that has ruled him out indefinitely according to Forbes. Power Forward Domantas Sabonis is also injured.
Brimah has spent the past two years with Pacers affiliate team in the NBA Gatorade League-Fort Wayne Mad Ants-but has featured for Indiana during preseason games via an Exhibit 10 contract.
That status has been elevated to a two way contract meaning the 2014 National College Champion with University of Connecticut is eligible to play with Indiana for the rest of the season including the playoffs should the Pacers progress to the postseason. (Click highlighted text to view full story)
6 foot 10 inch Brimah ranked second in the recently ended Gatorade League averaging 2.8 blocks per game.
