Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghanaian Center Emmanuel Dowuona is set to leave Purdue University Men’s Basketball Program.
This comes in the aftermath of the 2020-2021 College Basketball Season with Dowuona entering his name in the transfer portal.
A mix of limited minutes and playing time and a COVID 19 bout prevented the 6 foot 10 defender from utilizing his physical gifts for The Boilermakers.
Dowuona redshirted his true first freshman year to develop his game further as he was tagged a “project”. He was third at the Center position behind Trevion Williams and Matt Haarms in the 2019-2020 season and experienced complications after getting infected with the corona virus.
He averaged 1.3 points and 0.9 rebounds in 3.4 minutes across just nine games; he is majoring in organizational leadership and his younger brother Ebenezer just played out his first year at North Carolina State University.
Emmanuel Dowuona becomes the second Ghanaian in as many days to enter the transfer portal following Joel Mensah’s decision to enter his name in the transfer portal.
