Basketballghana.com gathers Ghanaian Power Forward/Center Joel Mensah is in the process of exiting the James Madison University Men’s Basketball program.

Mensah has entered his name in the transfer portal following the conclusion of the 2020-2021 season with The Dukes. The just ended season was his first run with the team after transferring from San Diego State University.

The 6 foot 10 inch defender spent two years at San Diego but found playing time hard to come by prompting his move to James Madison.

However, the move did not pan out as planned with Mensah averaging 1.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 5.9 minutes across nine games; he started in two of those games.

Mensah, who is majoring in Finance, is one of four James Madison players from the 2020-2021 season to enter the transfer portal seeking to get enrolled on a new University roster for the upcoming season.

They are to be replaced by Takal Molson from Canisius College and Charles Faden from Winthrop University. Mensah is set to play out his senior season in the 2021-2022 campaign.
