Basketballghana.com can report Ghanaian-Italian International Shooting Guard Awudu Abass won’t compete in the 2020-2021 EuroCup Final Series following his team’s loss in the semifinals.
Italian side Virtus Bologna lost 100-107 to Russian side UNICS Kazan making it back to back losses after taking the three game series opening game.
Kazan progresses to the Final thanks to the 2-1 win in the series with the progression coming at the expense of the highest ranked team in Europe second tier competition. Bologna had not lost a game in the regular season and the playoffs prior.
Abass had a quiet series against Kazan as he registered just two points and a rebound in five minutes off the bench in Game 3’s loss. Teammates and former NBA players Milos Teodosic and Marco Belinelli led Bologna in scoring with 25 points and 24 points respectively.
This is Abass’ first run in the EuroCup with Bologna after transferring from Germani Brescia in the offseason. Bologna plays Olimpia Milano in the Italian League on April 17.
