Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) President David Addo-Ashong is hopeful for a long awaited Congress to be staged before the close of the year.
He indicated his zeal to see this through during his address at the Ghana Basketball Conference organized earlier today via ZOOM.
The Conference organized by RITE Sports Limited in partnership with GBBA brought together high profile personalities in the basketball industry in Ghana and outside Ghana to share ideas on issues affecting the development of the sport.
Reports reaching Ghana’s biggest basketball platform indicates the last congress was held over eight years ago; the event however, ought to be organized annually or biannually.
“We ought to have a Congress not annual but it’s long overdue and I hope we can have one this year. Yes there will be a congress and those elections should be held” he said in response to a question raised by Kaneshie Swan Lakers Basketball Club Patron Dr. Andre Kwasi-Kumah.
Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif was a speaker at the Basketball Conference.
