Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif will speak at the Ghana Basketball Conference.

The Conference takes place on Wednesday, April 14 via online conferencing platform ZOOM at 13:00 GMT under the theme, “Reviewing The Past, Planning The Future”.

Honourable Ussif recently was appointed as Sports Minister and takes over from immediate past Minister Isaac Asiamah who served for four years.

Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate Honourable Ussif will address the topic, “Support for less financed sports in Ghana” at the event.

GBBA President Addo-Ashong

The Conference is a partnership between RITE Sports Limited and Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA); personalities expected to speak at the event include GBBA President David Addo-Ashong, Basketball Africa League Vice President John Manyo-Plange and former NBA Player and Scout Pops Mensah-Bonsu.

The Ghana Basketball Conference is to be held to address concerns on basketball development in the West African country mainly financing and provision of proper infrastructure.

Basketball is popular among the youth in Ghana but the country is yet to make waves in the sport especially on the international stage.
