Basketballghana.com can report Ghanaian-Canadian International Power Forward Laeticia Amihere has registered nine blocked shots to help her University of South Carolina team progress further in the ongoing National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

The 6 foot 4 inch player delivered the game leading statistic in a 62-34 win over University of Texas at the Elite Eight stage and sets up a matchup against Stanford University in the semifinals on Friday, April 2 at 22:00 GMT.

Aside the high blocked shots mark, Amihere registered 10 points, an assist and eight rebounds in 17 minutes off the bench; the second year redshirt player committed two turnovers in the contest.

Amihere scored five of eight field goal shots while attempting no three point shots or free throws; she was one of five South Carolina players to score in double figures.

Teammate Zia Cooke led all players in scoring with 16 points and added six rebounds; each of the remaining teams in the tournament has a Canadian on its roster.
