Basketballghana.com can confirm Spintex Knights Basketball Club has added to its impressive collection of talent on its roster by announcing the signing of Mubarak Alhassan and Gustav Asiedu-Addo.
The news was announced recently on the team’s official Twitter page; Alhassan plays the Center position while Asiedu-Addo plays Shooting Guard and can play the Point Guard position as well.
Alhassan competed in previous seasons in the Tema Basketball League for Tema Heat and was involved in the 2018 Finals against Spintex Knights; Heat lost the series 1-2.
Both players recently competed in the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship and faced off in the final game.
Alhassan’s Radford University College topped Gustav’s Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) 58-46 to lift its debut UPAC title.
Gustav joins a talented albeit crowded Knights backcourt that has the likes of Elvis Pobi-Siaw, Joel Tham, Kontor Appiah and Gabriel Numarworse.
Tenacious rebounder Alhassan joins Knights frontcourt that has the likes of Emmanuel Ocquaye; Knights lost the 2019 finals series to Spintex Knights in its debut campaign.
The Tema League is yet to commence following the conclusion of the 2019 season due to the corona virus pandemic.
