University of South Carolina Women’s Basketball Team has booked its place in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Round of 16 stage in the ongoing national basketball competition.
South Carolina topped Oregon State University 59-42 to progress; Ghanaian-Canadian international Laeticia Amihere scored eight points in the win.
The 6 foot 4 inch Forward added nine rebounds, an assists and a steal in 25 minutes off the bench; Amihere scored points in the previous win over Mercer University.
Georgia Tech lies immediately ahead in the Sweet 16 game set to be played on Saturday, March 27 and a downturn in Amihere’s turnovers would improve the Canadian’s efficiency.
The redshirt second year player committed five turnovers against Oregon State and committed six in the win over Mercer. Against Oregon, Amihere converted three of six field goal attempts and two of four free throw attempts respectively.
Teammate Aliyah Boston led all players in scoring with 19 points and added seven rebounds in 26 minutes. Amihere’s father is Ghanaian.
