Radford University College Basketball Head Coach Albert Ato Sam has pointed out learning from a loss to KNUST earlier in the 2020 UPAC helped his team clinch the title.
He made this statement in a special documentary on Radford’s run to win its maiden Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship title.
Radford beat Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) 58-46 in the final game after losing 32-47 to KNUST in the earlier rounds of the tournament.
Addressing the subject, Coach Sam indicated lessons learnt from the 15 point loss proved to be the masterstroke behind his team’s win in the second matchup.
“Tech-KNUST- they came with their A game I salute them the first game…they really beat us but we learnt our lessons, got all the mistakes that we did in the first game, we put them together and when we finally met them at the finals, we showed them Radford basketball how it is played” he said.
Takoradi Technical University finished in third place.
