San Diego State University Men’s Basketball Team will compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament later this month. This means Ghana Center Nathan Mensah is in line to compete in the competition dubbed “March Madness”.
Mensah’s San Diego team made it to the Tournament after beating Utah State University 68-57 to clinch the Mountain West Conference title.
The team plays 2003 Champions Syracuse University on Friday, March 19 in the opening round; Mensah registered 10 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and a steal in 24 minutes in the win over Utah State.
San Diego’s progress to the Tournament means Mensah is in line to follow fellow Ghanaian born players Ben Bentil and Amida Brimah who played in the event in recent years.
Bentil starred at Providence College in 2016 while Brimah won the national title at University of Connecticut in 2014 before turning professional.
Brimah recently played in the NBA Gatorade League for Fort Wayne Mad Ants while Bentil is with Greek side Panathinaikos.
