San Diego State University Men’s Basketball Team will compete for the chance to win the 2020-2021 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship after booking a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
San Diego beat Utah State University 68-57 in the final game of the Mountain West Conference playoffs to clinch the title after ending the regular season with the first seed.
Ghana’s Nathan Mensah is the starting Center for San Diego and played 24 minutes in the contest as he registered 10 points, eight rebounds, an assist, two blocks and a steal.
Mensah converted four of seven shots from two point range and converted two of four free throws to break out of a slump in recent games; the 6 foot 10 inch defender fouled out without scoring a basket in the semifinal win over University of Nevada.
The NCAA Tournament commences on Thursday, March 18 in Indianapolis with the fixtures set to be drawn an announced later today.
San Diego State scored 40 points inside the paint beating Utah’s 26 point en route to the win.
