Vanoli Cremona could be on the move up the Italian Serie A standings once this weekend’s round of games conclude as the team prepares to play bottom ranked Cantu.

Ghanaian-Italian International Guard David Cournooh is a starter at Cremona and was instrumental in the team’s latest win this past weekend.

Cournooh registered 12 points, a steal, five assists and six rebounds in 33 minutes in Cremona’s 100-78 win over VL Pesaro; Fabio Mian led all players in scoring with 23 points.

The win moves Cremona to 10th place in the 15 team league standings with eight wins and 12 losses ahead of a fixture against Cantu who rank bottom in the league with six wins and 14 wins.

Playing Cantu on Sunday, March 14 gives Cremona a huge chance to gets its ninth win of the 2020-2021 regular season and possibly move up the standings.

Cournooh moved from fellow Italian side Virtus Bologna prior to the start of the season. He has represented Italy at the Under 20 level and senior level at the 2006 Mediterranean games.
