San Diego State University Men’s Basketball Team will battle University of Wyoming in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference later tonight.
Ghana Center Nathan Mensah is in line to compete for San Diego in the team’s first postseason game of the 2020-2021 season; San Diego ended the regular season with 20 wins and four losses.
Wyoming topped San Jose State University 111-80 in the first round of the playoffs and drew a matchup against the top seeded San Diego State in the next round.
The Aztecs (Sans Diego) head into the contest on the back of clinching the conference top seed for the second year in a row with Matt Mitchell and Brian Dutcher named as Conference Player of the Year and Conference Coach of the Year respectively.
Mensah on the other hand, was named to the Conference’s All Defensive Team after averaging 1.4 blocks; he also averaged 6.3 rebounds and 8.8 points in 21.4 minutes in 24 games.
The quarterfinal matchup tips off at 20:00 GMT.
