Basketballghana.com can report Ghanaian-Italian International Shooting Guard/Small Forward Awudu Abass has registered 12 points in a win for Virtus Bologna in the EuroCup.
The scoring production came in an 83-62 win over JL Bourg En Bresse in the Round of 16 fixtures played in midweek in Europe’s second tier competition.
The win moves Bologna to the quarterfinal stage where the team has been drawn against Spanish side Joventut in a best of three games format. The opening game tips off on Tuesday, March 23.
Abass added two rebounds, three assists and a steal in 25 minutes to his scoring tally as a starter in the big win over Bourg. He converted one of two three point shots in the game which came in the third quarter.
After a solid run of games following his move from Germani Brescia, Abass has found it difficult getting ample minutes due to the arrival of former NBA Champion Marco Bellinelli. Abass’ lack of game time cost him his place in Italy’s last round of international games.
