Basketballghana.com can confirm San Diego State University Men’s Basketball Team has clinched the top seed in the Mountain West Basketball Conference Regular Season standings.
Ghana Center Nathan Mensah is the starting Center for The Aztecs and was heavily involved in the team’s success; this is the team’s second top seeding in a row.
San Diego State ended the regular season with 20 wins and four losses overall with 14 wins and three losses coming against conference opponents.
The postseason commences later today with San Diego set to compete in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 11 against a yet to be determined opponent.
Mensah is in his third year with the program and ended second year as the starting Center with averages of 8.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 21.4 minutes across 24 games.
This is the 6 foot 10 inch defender’s first year back from a respiratory sickness that ended his 2019-2020 campaign after just 13 games.
Mensah was ranked the 14th best Center nationally by ESPN during his final year at Findlay Prep in Nevada.
