American born Ghanaian Center/Power Forward Selom Mawugbe was inactive for Santa Cruz Warriors in the team’s semifinal loss in the 2021 NBA Gatorade League (G League) season.
Santa Cruz (G League affiliate of NBA side Golden State Warriors) lost 96-108 to Lakeland Magic in the semifinal game; Lakeland progress to the final to play Delaware Blue Coats on Thursday, March 11.
Mawugbe came off the bench and played in Santa Cruz’s quarterfinal win over Rio Grande Valley Vipers but didn’t play at all in the loss to Magic.
Former NBA Champions Jeremy Lin led Santa Cruz in scoring with 20 with four other teammates scoring in double digits in the contest.
Mawugbe made it into the G League via the draft after starring for Azusa Pacific University and averaged 5.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 19 minutes across 12 games in the regular season.
His blocks average ranked him third in the league with fellow Ghanaian Center Amida Brimah placing second with 2.8 blocks.
