Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghanaian duo Amida Brimah and Selom Mawugbe have ended the 2021 NBA Gatorade League (G League) Regular Season ranked high in the blocks category.
Brimah averaged 2.8 blocks per game across 10 games while American born Ghanaian Forward Mawugbe averaged 2.6 blocks per game across 12 games to finish in third place.
The pair was ranked in the top three slots of the statistical category that had Nick Richards of Greensboro Swarm lead with 3.0 blocks per game.
This is Brimah’s third appearance in three seasons among the top shot blockers in the G League; he played two seasons with Austin Spurs and won the league title in 2018.
However, Brimah’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants team missed the playoffs after ending the campaign with six wins and nine losses while Mawugbe’s Santa Cruz Warriors made it through.
Santa Cruz ranked second in the standings with 11 wins and four losses including a 113-103 win over Oklahoma City Blue in the regular season finale; Mawugbe came off the bench and registered eight points, six blocks, six assists, five rebounds and a steal in 32 minutes.
