Ghana Forward Ben Bentil has been in impressive form since the international break ended and is in line to continue the fine run later tonight when Panathinaikos plays Kolossos in the Greek Basketball League.
Bentil was inactive during the international break due to Ghana’s failure to compete in the 2021 FIBA African Nations Basketball Championship (AfroBasket).
Since club basketball resumed, Bentil has scored in double figures twice in three games including a 14 point outing against Barcelona in the EuroLeague.
Panathinaikos is in an excellent position to successfully defend the league title after winning it in the previous campaign; the team ranks second in the standings with 11 wins and two losses while league leaders AEK Athens has 12 wins and four losses.
This is the second year of Bentil’s two year contract he signed after moving from fellow Greek side Promitheas to join Panathinaikos.
The 26 year old is a featured member of the team under Oded Kattash who was appointed Head Coach earlier this year. Bentil has prior NBA experience with Dallas Mavericks.
He is averaging 8.5 points, 1.4 assists and four rebounds in 16 minutes in the Greek League across 11 games.
