Basketballghana.com can confirm Fort Wayne Mad Ants won’t compete in the NBA Gatorade League (G League) playoffs after missing out on qualification.
This means Ghana Center Amida Brimah will miss the G League playoffs for the first time in three seasons after making the playoffs twice in two years with Austin Spurs.
Fort Wayne’s playoffs miss was confirmed on Saturday, March 6 following a 111-107 win over Greensboro Swarm in the final regular season game.
Despite the win, Fort Wayne failed to make the playoffs after finishing the regular season with six wins and nine losses; the team ended the campaign in 13th place.
However, Mad Ants Guard Naz Mitrou-Long registered a triple double in the team’s season finale by dropping 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 22 points.
Amida on the other hand, had a quiet ending to the regular season as he registered two points, a block, two assists and nine rebounds in 24 minutes.
For the season, the 6 foot 10 inch defender averaged 8.5 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and eight points in 23.5 minutes across 10 games. Brimah missed the first five games of the season and finished in second place in the league in blocks.
