Basketballghana.com can report Ghana Center Amida Brimah was in action for the first time in the ongoing NBA Gatorade League (G League) 2021 Season after featuring for Fort Wayne Mad Ants in a contest against Santa Cruz Warriors.
The G League is taking place in a bubble at the World Disney Resort in Orlando, Florida due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
Brimah had missed out on five games as he underwent quarantine after arriving late to the bubble to take care of personal matters; Fort Wayne lost 109-113 to Santa Cruz with Brimah registering 12 points, two blocks and 10 rebounds.
Playing against the Warriors also marked Brimah’s first game in the G League since March, 2019 when he featured for Austin Spurs. The 6 foot 10 inch player spent two years at Austin and won the 2018 league title.
He was due to play in last season’s G League campaign but an ACL injury ruled him out completely from competing. Brimah registered his 271st block in G League history.
He is one of two players on Fort Wayne roster on a two way contract meaning he could get recalled to play for NBA side Indiana Pacers after signing a contract with them before getting assigned to the Mad Ants.
