Basketballghana.com can report Fort Wayne Mad Ants has lost its first game of the 2021 NBA Gatorade League (G League) Regular Season.

Ghana’s Amida Brimah who was assigned to the team after signing a one year deal with Fort Wayne’s NBA affiliate side Indiana Pacers did not play in the contest.

Reasons behind Brimah’s absence is yet to be officially communicated; Amida has prior experience in the G-League after spending two seasons at Austin Spurs and winning the league title in 2018 and making it to the All Defensive Team.

Brimah was scheduled to play with Fort Wayne last season but an ACL injury prevented that from happening; he recovered in time to sign with the Pacers ahead of Indiana’s preseason games.

Due to COVID reasons, the league is taking place in a bubble environment with all 18 teams located inside the World Disney Facility in Orlando, Florida.

Forwards Brian Bowen and Cassius Stanley led Fort Wayne with 22 and 21 points respectively in the loss.
