Wheelchair Basketball Player and Ghana’s representative at the Tokyo Paralympic Games Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe is hoping he gets support to aid his preparation for the upcoming competition.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com prior to commencing training for the Games recently. Nkegbe is the reigning SWAG (Sports Writers Association of Ghana) Personality of the Year Award winner after winning multiple wheelchair sprint contests including the Desert Challenge in the US.

“I hope at this time I will get all the necessary support from my Association –Ghana Para Athletics Association,  Government, Minister of Youth and Sports, National Sports Authority and also call on corporate bodies to help me achieve the dream of winning Ghana’s first ever Paralympics medal” he said.

Later this year, the veteran and versatile parathlete will represent Ghana for the fourth time at the Paralympics due to be staged in Tokyo, Japan. His qualification to four Paralympics is a national record.

Nkegbe captained then Brong-Ahafo Region to win gold at the National Unity Games held in 2017.
