Basketballghana.com can confirm celebrated Wheelchair Basketball Player and Olympic Parathlete Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe has structured his training ahead of the 2021 Olympics and Paralympics to into phases.
His training regime has been structured into three phases with Phase One being a non residential camp base at the Accra Sports Stadium. He commenced training earlier this week.
Phase Two is set to have the 2020 SWAG (Sports Writers Association of Ghana) Personality of the Year Award winner move to residential camping at the Cape Coast Stadium or Tamale Stadium in other parts of Ghana.
The final phase has to do with competing in tournaments ahead of this year’s Olympics in Tokyo; a couple of International ParaCycling events in France, Tunisia or Switzerland has also been planned.
This forms part of Nkegbe’s preparations for his national record setting fourth Paralympics since making his debut at the 2008 Games held in Beijing.
He has qualified to compete in the wheelchair sprint event in Tokyo.
