The onset of the corona virus pandemic forced several events particularly in the sports industry into cancellation or postponement all over the world.
The inaugural edition of the Basketball Africa League was postponed twice and due to be played this year with the Olympic Games also moved to this year.
On the Ghanaian circuit, basketball competitions were heavily affected by the virus and the subsequent ban on contact sports including basketball.
The Accra Basketball League and GSP League had commenced their respective 2020 seasons prior to the outbreak of the virus in the West African nation.
Both competitions were at various stages of the regular season with the Accra League commencing a couple of weeks and GSP ready to commence the second half of the season before the ban was introduced.
With the ban lifted and the number of COVID 19 infections and deaths lower this year so far than last year, both leagues are yet to announce plans regarding the past season and the way forward.
